		The Massachusetts Sierra Club welcomes your active participation! There are many ways to take action on environmental issues and become involved in the Sierra Club. You can attend local group meetings, volunteer to help on an issue committee, or take action now by communicating with your elected officials and policy-makers on important environmental issues. Whether you send e-mail to your Senator, vote in an election, clean up your neighborhood, or talk to your children about human rights, you are making a difference. Use the tools we have provided to make it easier to take action... *Send an E-Petition or letter to your elected officials or policy-makers* Visit our E-Petition home page to take action on many of the issues we are working on. Currently active petitions include: Save the Northern Right Whale Stop Mt. Wachusett Ski Area Expansion Moratorium on Airport Expansion *Join the Sierra Club Activist Network* Join SCAN and receive regular e-mail with action alerts, announcements, and invitations to Sierra Club special events. *Join your local Sierra Club Group* The Sierra Club is the nation's largest grassroots environmental organization, and your local Sierra Club Group is the heart of cutting edge environmental advocacy at the community level. Explore our interactive map for a description of Sierra Club Groups in Massachusetts, or to learn how to start a Sierra Club Group in your area. *Join us on an outing* Sierra Club Inner City Outings (ICO) is a community outreach program that is run by trained volunteer members of the Sierra Club with the goal of taking children from urban areas in and around Boston out to the mountains, woods, lakes, anywhere where there aren't buildings.
