Estabrook Woods Trip Report
Due to bad weather, this outing was changed to an "inning"! We attended a Planetarium show at the Museum of Science, where the kids were treated to a fascinating lessons from Galileo himself! Then we went to nearby MIT, where our resident astrophysicist Glen Monnelly gave a guided tour of the Operations Center for the High Energy Transient Explorer (HETE) Satellite. The kids got a close-up view of the consoles and displays that are used to monitor and control HETE and also saw a full-scale model of the satellite.
