Sierra Club is a nonprofit
membership organization, with leaders elected by our membership on an
annual basis. We have 22,000 members in Massachusetts, and more than
700,000 members nationwide, dedicated to the protection of the Earth's
natural environment. The Massachusetts Chapter currently has 5 active
groups serving much of the commonwealth, with volunteer leaders who are
active on local environmental issues. If you would like to get involved
please contact us.Groups and Town Committees
Some regions of the chapter are organized into groups, meeting to
address local issues. These groups are always open to new members, and
welcome your involvement. If you live in Western or Central
Massachusetts, or outside the boundaries of any of the listed groups,
and wish to start a local Sierra Club group, please contact us.

Legislative Action Committee
One of the most powerful tools that the chapter has in affecting
environmental protections. We sponsor and support many environmental
bills, and this committee covers all the aspects of legislation:
testifying at hearings, lobbying and making calls to legislators, and
contacting the press about important legislative issues. Help Draft
Testimony - The chapter supports many bills and we need help drafting
testimony. These reports are typically 2-3 pages and usually include a
chart or graph - and are footnoted. If you enjoy the aspects of
research and writing reports, this is a great opportunity!
